It's getting close to "Turkey Day" and I can smell fresh baked goodies in my house. Which translates to extra inches around the middle by Friday. But that's okay.
I just finished my track for the Instructors CD for the Key West Dulcimer Festival. This CD will be on sale at the festival and from what I've seen of the song list it should really be a great one to have in the collection. If you haven't done so already check out the Key West Dulcimer Festival's web site http://www.keywestdulcimerfest.com/ . Bing Futch has put a lot of hard work into making this an amazing festival for everyone. The dates for the festival are January 28 - 31, 2010. Come and join the fun in the sun with the rest of us in January!
I also wanted to let everyone know that I will be teaching at the Western Carolina University Dulcimer Week in July of 2010.

- Jeff started learning the mountain dulcimer and honoring its musical beginnings at the age of nine by watching his grandparents play. As Jeff grew so did his love of music and his ability to play songs that were not customarily played on a mountain dulcimer. Jeff won the 2006 Southern Regional Mountain Dulcimer Competition held in Mountain View, AR. and in September of that same year became the 2006 National Mountain Dulcimer Champion by winning the National Contest held in Winfield, KS. Jeff has a very active calendar teaching workshops and private lessons as well as performing. With the release of his first CD, It's Dulcimer Time, Jeff has opened yet another door in his career creating three original compositions. With these you can get a feel for the wide range of Jeff's talent. As his musical knowledge has grown, he has discovered that the dulcimer is not limited to one style of music. The CD is full of life and represents the interests that we all had as a teenager, great music and hot cars. It includes rock and roll, heart breaking ballads, blues and some fast paced dance tunes.
